Show suffers from lack of a compelling antagonist IMHO. It just strikes me as way too clumsy the way they try to play up the Earl and his henchman (who reminds me a bit too much of the Sicilian from The Princess Bride)as great machivellian schemers.

The Earl's wife/woman probably has the most potential in the "bad guy/girl" department. But so far it's mostly untapped.

The brother could develop into an enemy. They're already showing him resenting Ragnar's power, and he wants to frick his wife.

To be fair, its only the 3rd episode of the 1st season. It takes a while to get the background on any character in any show before you start having the good guys and bad guys. Gotta create the history and all that.

That said, looks like the brother, the Earl, and the Earls wife are the antagonist. I hate that dude thats always with the Earl that strangled that little kid. Hes annoying.

Also like how they incorporated Eric the Red in this episode.
