Monty deserves until the start of the season next year to at least finally prove SOMETHING other than being capable of running his mouth in the media without having earned the coaching credentials to do so. by a month or two into the season if there are not VERY NOTICEABLE improvements, then send him packing back to assistant coaching somewhere (where he likely still belongs).

those are just a couple of examples. now I'm not saying its a bad thing that he runs his mouth. I'm saying that he needs to prove something with his coaching before running his mouth the way he does. by the way he runs his mouth to the media you would think that he was Gregg Popovich or Phil Jackson with some weight behind him.
Monty needs to prove that he is even worthy of being a head coach in the NBA to begin with (which at this point is extremely questionable), then he can run his mouth all he wants.

no its just being honest and not foolishly bowing down to him just because some people think it makes them a "better" fan if they just go with the flow instead of critiquing him.
I like the man. he seems like a great person. I'm just not fond of his coaching thus far and the excuses are getting old.

This thread needs to go away until next season. If we don't make the playoffs you are correct if not you will be harassed and beaten.

There is no reason to get mad anymore of this year. It's a shite hole and we suck. I hate saying let's wait till next year but that has to be the case. If we end up sucking again next year I will be tripled pissed because its like we saw it coming but next year does look bright.

Actually, I don't think anyone is "bowing down" to the guy. I think people are reacting to these over the top threads/posts that say it's time to fire him. The guy deserves another season without question, imo. I haven't liked his game management lately, but I'm also willing to give him a chance with a better roster and a more experienced team.

I'm sure Monty Williams is the only coach in the entire league who ever voices displeasure when something happens that he doesn't agree with.

I agree. like I said I feel that he deserves until at least a month or two into next season to show some improvement.

if they improve? without a doubt

I haven't liked his game management from the very first season, but gave him the benefit of the doubt in most cases until about midway thru this season. he has consistently made poor coaching decisions in crunch time during winnable games from the very first season.

Yep, I'm bowing down to him because I don't complain when he does something every other coach in the league does.

no he isn't the only coach to do that, but he is the only coach with a 89-125 record who has never proven anything yet has consistently made headlines for running his mouth in the media.

no. you're just being the front runner that you have always been. you know it doesn't make you a better fan than anyone else just because you brown nose everyone on the team and won't dare criticize anything.

You gave 2 links. Please show me where Monty Williams is notorious across the league as being a complainer.
You are priceless. Monty must've fricked your girl or something.

Yep. I'm just this big superfan that doesn't know shite. Totally didn't start a thread questioning Monty's offensive sets before. Always claiming I'm a better fan, too. You know me, Mr. Pretentious.

your ignorance and reading comprehension is what is "priceless".
I never once complained that him running his mouth in the media was a bad thing. pay attention. since that obviously flew over your head, here is the exact comment again -

what is with all the cursing? chill out.
btw your basketball opinion became irrelevant from the moment you said that Kobe Bryant was the second greatest player of all time. remember that one my friend?

Ah, I forgot. Only coaches with winning records can have issues with horrible officiating or a rule that forces their best player to have to sit out of games.
Also, please tell me what coaches would have a winning record with this roster over the last 2 years. Not saying that Monty has never done anything wrong, but you wave this overall record around like we've had the Heat's roster or something the last few years. He had a winning record the one time he had a healthy star player. He doesn't get credit for that, though. It was all CP3. He only gets credit when our D-League team can't get into the playoffs.

I said the argument could be made. Kobe is a fricking great player. Anyone that can score 81 points in a game is going to be high on any greatest list.
