Ok, there is a pizza place close to the Yellow Hostel that was pretty tasty.
I'm pretty sure I tried the same place. The Yellow Hostel was awesome.

my suggestions for Rome:
Ristorante Paris
Ditrambo
Salumeria Roscioli
La Tavernaccia
Filipo La Mantia
Roma Sparita
All of these have very different kinds of food. Too many good places in Rome for me to list, but those are the ones that I tried. Enjoy the city, it's truly amazing for sites and food

You have to go to Il Latini.
I studied abroad for a semester and a friend of mine and I traveled across Europe for awhile. We ate as cheap as we could to make sure we had money to get to the next stop. However, in Florence we got a recommendation to go to Il Latini, so we decided to splurge beyond a slice of pizza and try it out. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. It was authentically Italian, it was not dumbed down for foreigners. We ran up quite a bill and the owner came by to make sure everything was good. He told us that the restaurant had been in his family for several generations and talked about where we were from. He cut our bill in half and wished us a good trip. It was an awesome experience and incredible food.
