Why? They play the sport that bests interests them and obviously it isn't baseball. I don't see it as a problem. Few play hockey either.

Baseball has changed over the decades though,and it is becoming more like tennis or golf in that parents with money send their kids to camps, play travel ball etc. It's not just developed on the playgrounds anymore. Most of the black players in the big leagues come from places where baseball is a way of life, a year around sport. That isn't the case in the US unless you can afford it.
