Looks like Kruger will be off the market soon:
I had a feeling someone like them would throw a bag of cash at him

cleveland org. is a joke.

Don't be an idiot, Paul!

he'd be a good fit for cleveland. Also if he goes to Cleveland, maybe just maybe cleveland passes on a guy we're eyeing up in the draft.

Chase Daniel might have particular attraction as a potential read-option QB. He's not big but he's tough and quick.

Bingo. They were def on of the teams who probably would have went best pass rusher

I think he has the moxie to run the read option.
moxie
The ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage. 2. Aggressive energy; initiative: "His prose has moxie, though it rushes and stumbles from a pent-up surge" ...

Was just thinking the same. I felt like they would go for Mingo or Jordan if either were there. Hopefully this opens them up to reach for one the the Guards, or even a QB.

@LarryHolder: Analysis: #Saints more likely to keep Will Smith, Jonathan Vilma than cut ties
I'm thinking this is purely speculation on Holder's part being that they haven't been cut by now.

I'd think Cleveland would maybe be thinking about milliner paired up with haden in the secondary, Kruger rushing the passer... add around those pieces.

LarryHolder: For those who think Smith and Vilma should go, would you want to pay them a combined $7 million in 2013 for nothing? #Saints
At this point I wouldn't mind paying them to leave.

Larry's dumb. Teams pay players to leave all the time.

I hate to agree, but we even if we cut Harper, Smith and Vilma, we still won't have money to go after a guy like Avril, Kruger or Ed Reed.
I see us signing a TE like Leonard Pope, Zach Potter, Ben Hartsock or Kevin Boss.
Maybe signing a OT like Bryant McKinnie, Jason Smith, Ryan Harris, Winston Justice or Gosder Cherilus.
I don't see us making big waves on defense. I think at best we may sign a guy like Victor Butler, Ernie Sims or Tracy Porter.

KristianGaric1: #Saints showing interest in UFA Brice McCain. Nickel CB, that could be a hot target on open market.
Posted on 3/12/13 at 9:47 am to Chad504boy
still have dead money to David Thomas $500K, Johnny Patrick $273K, and even Matt Tennant still at $59K
not comparable on scale but it does happen quite often. We still had $1million to Reggie last year.
good story on dead money going into last year. Indy had $38million in dead money, Dallas $30mil, & Oakland $28mil

Bears gonna be after long or bushrod.

JeffDuncanTP: A market developing for Bushrod. RT @alexmarvez: ... I hear #Dolphins Jake Long or #Saints Jermon Bushrod top UFA target for #Bears.

alexmarvez: The great @Gil_Brandt recently said on @SiriusXMNFL that Bushrod told the #Saints he wanted a contract larger than that of Jahri Evans.
shite, looks like hes gone
