So you're not going to just link the two posts of mine that contradict each other? Because that wasn't in your novel.
Yes it was. Here it is.
quote:quote:
If anything, the newer tech means more people have a shot at winning compared to Jack's era, which would make Tiger's run more impressive. I dint see how you could logically argue against that.
Which is in direct contrast to your early statement saying this about advances in equipment -
quote:
quote: It was the best for the time period. Everyone in the field has access to the same equipment, thus the playing field is leveled for superior skill to take over.
quote:
I'm sure that was much funnier in your head.
I wasn't smiling when I typed that. It was intentional.
ETA: funny thing is, we've now shifted the focus of the argument from the original point of this whole thread to semantics. Whenever you would like to revisit the original argument, let me know.

And there is your reading comprehension fail.
This quote was made for people who were saying the newer tech had anything to do with Jack's run being better than Tiger's. It was made to establish that we could compare Tiger's numbers to Jack's even though they competed in different eras.
This quote doesn't contradict the previous one. Sorry, it just doesn't.

Sure. Here is my original and only stance in this thread.
Jack is currently the GOAT. Tiger is well on his way to taking that over, but obviously has work left to do.
The advances in equipment play no part in comparing their careers, because Tiger has had to play longer and tighter courses as a result of the aforementioned advanced tech. The tech is a wash, because both's respective competition had access to equal tech.
The only way you could bring tech logically into the discussion is if Tiger and Jack were both playing an identical course at the same time while both in their primes.
So feel free to tell me where I'm wrong.
