They're apparently not too rare. A quick search pulled up quite a few for sale. Ranging from $950-1200 so you definitely got a good price.

If you're serious that you were considering using a limited edition Colt 1911 as a carry gun you don't deserve to own that gun and it pisses me off that you have it. King and I share a special Delta Elite bond and if I know my DE Brother, his blood is boiling over this as well.
