That's my normal experience with engineering majors. But I'm sure you and Jumbeaux are good people.

I'm a project manager for a bunch of engineers.
Their underlying belief is that the know everything about everything.

Exactly.

Sadly I suffer from that delusion from time to time, but in fairness my dad is the king of all knowitalls so I learned it from the best (he's a district manager for a drug store, no engineering at least)

What uhh... brand of engineer are you?
Civil. Got my PE in 2011

Civil here, because for a while I couldn't decide if I wanted to do Engineering or Architecture
This is how I chose my major. At LSU spring testing we needed to pick a major so we could schedule our classes. Hadn't given it much thought. So I was like well I'm good in math, I'll be an engineer.

Some are like that. And it's funny that people that aren't engineers think that too.
"Hey, you're an engineer, my DVD player is broken, do you know what's wrong with it?"
You would not believe how many times I have been asked ridiculous shite like this. If a sentence begins "hey you're an engineer" I cringe.

So did I as well the first time, tried Mechanical and didn't realize I had to actually try in my math and science classes in college and got some D's, said frick this and got a business degree.
Hated my job in new orleans, actually put some thought into what I wanted to do, and now I'm on track to graduate with a CE degree from LSU. Best decision I ever made to come back.

I hear that from my friends and family all the time.

Most Project Engineers are like that. I think it's a prerequisite for the job.

Lawyers get this all the time, too.

Nice. How much longer you got? I fricked around big time in my second and third semester of college (spring pledge semester and then went nuts the next semester) and almost switched from CE to Poli Sci with the plan to follow the rest of my family into law school. Glad I didn't do that.

Supposedly may 2015, shouldn't be too hard to accomplish with me actually spending all my time doing it rather than living with 3-4 of my closest friends and playing smash brothers 24/7

I think that the engineering professions just disproportionately select vocal, annoying know-it-alls. I would imagine that the majority aren't.

Everyone sucks regardless of their profession!

I can attest to this. That Descartes dude was awful.

All the fricking time. And its against the law if you aren't a member of the bar, so its even more aggravating when you're a law student.
