I think you can tender for any round, but the round you tender them for ends up matching them with a certain amount of salary.

If a team outbids that salary, they get the player, but end up forking over the draft pick which they were tendered for.

If no team outbids the salary, the player is owed that salary by the team.



I think that's how this whole UFA, tendering hulubaloo nonsense goes.

Tenders are only first round, second round, or round drafted, nothing else. There's really no reason for the round drafted with an UDFA except that it gives you a chance to match whatever offers they get, but I don't think we'll do that. We will tender him with the 2nd round option and trade him for whatever we can get (likely a 6th/7th rounder, maybe with a chance to get another one next season if he meets certain performance requirements).
