Yeah not only every other sport, but any industry has increased in sophistication and competition in 20 years, but we are suppose to believe the NBA hasn't. Disregard players today are not only more athletic, but have way more opportunities to develop their game as opposed to 20 years ago. Today's technology allows us to really scrutinize players games more, as opposed to the 80/90s where such avenues were severely limited. Takes a lot more skill to play defense today, than back when you could simply apply more physical contact when you're getting outclassed. imagine Bron being able to just use his physical attributes with brute force back in the day. Elbow by Bron, yeah good luck with that.
