In 98', we (6 of us) watched the first game vs USC from Brew Bachers on Nicholson which, of course, LSU lost. We were supposed to be leaving after that game to head back up to Omaha since they were going for the three-peat that year. After the loss, we all looked at each other and said, "There's no way those assholes can beat us twice" and promptly drove all night to get to Omaha in time for round two vs. USC. The rest is history. The weather turned cold, the bats went dead and LSU was out. Well, we've got a couple more days of vaca and my Mom's family lives in St. Louis and also owns Cards season tickets. Remember, this was when Sosa and McGuire were locked up for the HR title. Needless to say, not a wasted trip!

We hit a ton of homers in that first USC game. Not sure if that record still stands.
