No it's what I drink because it's what I like, for the price and accessibility. It tastes better than the other big breweries to me.

Drink what you like man. I don't attack those that drink BMC. A good portion of my friends do, though i did convert a few into craft. Hell, my dad only drinks bud. I've tried to convert him, but he won't budge. Me and my brother drink craft, and he calls it "weird beer".

My only thing, is for those that refuse to even try craft beer. There is another world outside of the BMC marketing machine. And that world is more flavorful and complex.

BMC does a good job at replicating a beer type (lager) that is much harder to brew than ales. Any slight off taste is much more prevalent in a lager than an ale. BMC gets a lot of credit from craft drinkers for their ability to replicate that same taste in every can billions of times. What we craft guys don't like about BMC is their intrusion into the craft market. BMC holds a 94=96% market share of the beer industry. Up to 10-15 years ago, it was 99%. So now that craft is exploding now, and their share is reduced by 6%, yet they still hold 94% of the market, they try to rebrand their shitty beer. They do it by creating shell companies. Henry Weinhard is one for example. You can't find anywhere on the package that it is an Inbev product. So if you are BMC and you are proud of your brand, why rebrand your image?
The answer, they are trying to trick craft drinkers who are less knowledgeable into drinking their beer and reclaiming that lost 4-6% of the market.

Another reason we don't like BMC, is that they take formerly good breweries, buy them, reduce the quality of ingredients, and try to sell that shite, as if it is the same brewery. Shock Top, Blue Moon are examples. And now Goose Island. I've listened to the owner of Goose Island on the brewing network. His son quit after the acquisition and started his own brewery. The owner said there is much more bureaucracy now that they don't make the final decision. He said as of now, they haven't made steps to alter the recipes. That's not a very comforting statement.

Reason 3 we hate big beer. The 3-tier system. Brewery-Distributor-Market. BMC pays a lot of money to lobbies to ensure the 3 tier system stays in place. The system favors BMC. Markets put there beers on the shelf. Whoever pays more money, gets prime shelf real estate. If you are a new brewery starting up, it's hard to get good shelf space, because BMC has 75% of the shelf taken up with the same beer in different containers. You have 6 packs, 12 packs, cases, bottles, cans, 10 oz. cans, 8 oz. cans. Then you have their lesser brews taking up space, like red dog, old milwaukee, etc... All of this shite takes up 75-80% of the grocery store shelves and it is ALL THE SAME BEER. When you have a new brewery trying to grow, having decent shelf placing is key.
Then comes the distributors. The laws are setup in such a way, especially in louisiana, that if you brew your own beer, you can't directly sell it to a market. So now you have to pay a distributor. That distributor then hauls your beer to his markets based on demand for that beer. So instead of being able to brew delicious beer and sell it. You have to brew it. Enter into a contract with a distributor. Hope that you have enough buzz about your beer to get good shelf placement.
It's basically makes it much harder for a new brewery to start up. Ergo, it favors BMC the most.

Reason 4. Gimmicks. BMC relies on stupid gimmicks to increase sales. Wide mouth cans, vortex bottles, cans that turn blue when they get cold, writing your name on bottles with a key. All of this shite does nothing to increase flavor. Also, the colder a beer is, the less flavor profile it has. So they actually encourage you to drink a colder beer so you don't have to taste the shite.
