The nerd thing was played out after season 2. There is only so far you can go with a premise like that before you have to actually make the characters into 3 dimensional people and not a gimmick.

But they became even more one dimensional when the show stopped really being about nerds. Everythig is just a sex gimmick now anyways.

Also, so you're saying that nerds can't be 3 dimensional characters?

If they were still doing Moff Tarkin jokes by season 4 people would be bitching.

Because they have a different audience than their well costumed writing and content should appeal to. Of course their audience wouldn't like Grand Moff Tarkin jokes, because their audience are 40+ years old, not twenty-something geeks.

But if it was a show for nerds and about nerds, well, Grand Moff Tarkin is always hilarious.

Also...

Big Bang Theory... It's a trap!

I think he's saying you can't just focus on the nerdy stuff if the character is going to be 3 dimensional. I seriously doubts he means nerds can't be 3 dimensional, but you also need to focus on other things in their life like relationships, work, and other various everyday things. Obviously you can inject their nerdiness into things like work and relationships, but it can't only be about them being nerds. I consider myself a nerd because of my like for comics, video games, books, etc. I enjoy the show and don't find they've only gone to sex jokes.
