well i have narrowed it down between the S&W 1911 E, SW 1911 Blued and the Ruger Sr1911...i guess i have some thinking to do on the stainless or not.

Yea. It's a matte stainless steel. It has a fully forged slide and frame, where the Ruger has a cast frame. I doubt you'd ever manage to break it but that is the reason it costs less.
The other S&W 1911s you can get are the black one (which I believe is melonite coated like their M&Ps) or a scandium-framed one. The scandium ones are mostly meant for CC but they are commander-sized. They are probably the sexiest ones out there. Here is the black one like mine with the scandium one below it.
