I like Juluke a lot for this position. Not saying we get him by any means, but he'd be a great addition to the staff.

Good HS Football Coach who was always a fan of LSU. But he would definitely be superfluous to our efforts recruiting in-state.

Wilson is the skeleton key to anyone in New Orleans. With precious few exceptions, he hasn't lost out to anyone in a head-to-head other than $uper Trooper Taylor when he was paying Trovon Reed & Robinson through Reed's stepfather's "Non-Profit".

We get who we want in New Orleans thanks to Frank. Jabbar needs time to develop the administrative, time-management part of the grind of being a football coach. He would be a net-negative at this point.

That won't always be the case, because one day Frank is going to leave to go prove himself as an Offensive Coordinator. I'm not sure he'll get that shot at LSU, and he needs that opportunity so he can bolster his resume to be head coach here one day. That's his ultimate dream.

But for now, Frank & Jabbar would overlap and be redundant as recruiters, and Jabbar needs to prove himself as a developer of talent at the collegiate level in a coaching capacity.

So he's not the right hire now.

I get what you're saying, but who cares if we waste resources in the short term? Look at all the money we pump into the program. It's not like Juluke would sit around with his thumb up his arse because Frank is well connected in New Orleans either; you can bet that he'd improve our recruiting overall. He's a charismatic guy that players like and respect, which you can never have enough of in recruiting. It doesn't hurt that he's a black guy from the city that can identify with a lot of the players we recruit.

I don't know how much longer we hold onto Frank. I haven't heard of him being offered an OC position anywhere, but he's been a great position coach and an invaluable recruiter, so you'd imagine the offers will come eventually. Juluke would be a seamless transition as RC after a year or two working with Frank.
