It's just too expensive to go there.

Absolutely. It's been a problem for awhile.

Tuition - $40,384 (in-state/out-of-state)

11.7 scholarships

State public schools will always have a built-in advantage.

By comparison - other strong baseball schools:

FSU - $5,825(in-state)
LSU - $6,354 (in-state)
Cal State Fullerton - $6,626(in-state)
UNC - $7,694 in-state)
Oregon State - $8,082 (in-state)
ASU - $9,724 (in-state)
Texas - $9,792 (in-state)
South Carolina - $10,168 (in-state)
UCLA - $12,692 (in-state)
UC Irvine - $14,090 (in-state)

But these schools do it which compare (although Stanford isn't as strong as they used to be.)

Baylor - $33,916
Rice - $37,292
Miami - $39,654
Stanford - $41,787
Vanderbilt - $42,118

I can still remember back when the trojans were in their glory yrs, making it to the CWS every yr & when they ran into one of Skip's first powerhouses, the HC bitched the whole tourney bout LSU having an unfair advantage with the locals supporting LSU so much. Made a real arse out of himself. Also, they didn't even have their own radio coverage, they had to tap into a local affilate to get coverage back to LA. Their days in the sun are long gone.
