We literally have nowhere to go but up as far as play calling goes.
The play calling has never been the biggest problem. That's just what fans say when they can't recognize what is really wrong.
They call the OC a coordinator for a reason. He needs to oversee every aspect of the offense and make sure that there is no aspect that is falling short way before it costs you a game. It is what Crowton was terrible at. He understood scheme, understood how to attack defenses, but had no control over how the WRs or OL was being coached. I don't feel like we had that on the staff over the last two years either.
Cameron should bring the whole package to this team. He will know very early on to him if the OL is not playing or being coached up to the needed standard. He will know very early on if the WRs aren't on the same page with the WR. The hope will be that we are not constantly trying to fix our shortcomings on the fly the way we have consistently needed to do over the last few years and instead get those things worked out very early so that we actually mature and develop during the year rather than go from below average to average.
I don't think people realize how potent this LSU offense could be with above average pass protection and an OC who will make the passing game somewhere close to 50% of the offense.
