I'm disappointed that Aronofsky keeps attaching his name to great-sounding projects but keeps dropping out at the last minute - Batman: Year One, The Wolverine, Robocop, etc.

Yeah no shite. Hugh Jackman was all excited to get to work with Aronofsky again after the Fountain, which Jackman knocked out of the park. I would think actors would get the hint after seeing what Aronofsky has been able to do with the talent given him. He made Jared Leto and Marlon Wayans look like quality actors for chrissakes. Give him real talent, like Natalie Portman, and he turns them into Oscar winners (while never winning anything himself... ). If I'm an actor, I want to do every movie Aronofsky directs. Even if I have a bit part.
ETA: I had heard about a live action Lone Wolf and Cub project. I would love to see that taken to screen. And way back in 2006, Warner Bros bought the rights to the Lies of Locke Lamora. That would make a fricking fantastic movie.
