The selection committee will receive a "jury charge" from the commissioners. In ranking the teams, the committee will consider strength of schedule, where the games were played, conference championships and whether teams lost games because of injuries to key players.

In the playoff, the top four ranked teams -- as determined by the selection committee -- will meet in the semifinals.

So, conference championships are borderline meaningless? Here we go...

I don't get that at all. The committee is better than the current system, they will be more accountable. It Sounds like they will put weight to winning a conference. I still think it should be top 4 conference winners or do away with CCG which they will never do. If you a team like UGA this year out because they lost the CCG and Florida who they beat in, because they didn't play in it, that's a problem.

I can't wait to see the leaps of logic these idiots make to put another team that beats three teams with a winning record in the regular season, finishes third in their conference, and loses their biggest home game of the season but still gets in the playoff.

Oh wait, we've already seen this.

Does this mean this committee will actually be honest about scheduling too?

Of course they will, if that means helping out a Brand team.

Face it, this is only going to make things worse than they are.

I can see it now, ever year:

Bracket one:

Third Place SEC (Bama) Vs Third Place Pac 12 (USC)

Bracket two:
ND (after beating two teams with a winning record) vs Ohio State (after waltzing through another daunting Big10 Schedule)

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

I think Wisconsin proved this year that sometimes they are.
