True but the loss of muscle, loss of energy, mood control problems, stomach aches etc. are a decent reason.

Will you give paleo a shot and let me know what you think?

I've been trying a paleo-esq diet since around 2/19. Basically trying to cut carbs and starches. I cheat occasionally (usually on weekends or by having something like cheese on something, but even then I'm eating not nearly as much as I was)

Weighed myself this weekend and I'm down roughly 5-10 pounds. Look and feel a ton better.

Overall I like it, though I would kill for a plate of mom's macraroni and cheese

I wish I could agree to do this, but I can't. I'm sure you can understand. As I said before, it's more than just a health decision, it's become a morally influenced decision as well. I hear nothing but good things about the Paleo diet and respect and encourage people to try it if they think it will be right for them. I am looking forward to educating myself on it a little more, for knowledge's sake. I am still reading Body by Science (slowly but surely) if that counts for anything!

If I ever venture back into the world of animal products, Paleo would definitely be a diet I would try.
