Your statement only makes sense to those that have never seen anything other than a 6/60 season.
I'm in my mid 20s so no I've never seen the 3/30. And I hope we don't. 30 days isn't shite. Like I said alot of people don't have jobs where they can take off work the entire hunting season.
The average Joe is left facing whether or not it's worth it to buy/maintain eqipment, leases, 4 wheelers, boats, etc. just for a handful of hunts. It becomes even more of a rich man's hobby. Wrong direction to go IMO. More days and less birds would be better. I'd personally rather a 2/45.

This is where your way of thinking is flawed. There are so many more people hunting ducks today compared to the 3/30 days its not funny. I do hunt private land some now days but during the 3/30 seasons there was no need. You could hunt WMAs like they were private. If someone was in the spot you wanted to hunt just sit back and wait. Less folks and smaller limits meant short hunts. The average group in a blind back then couldn't have been more than 3. Today we have so many hunting one needs to spend big$. Big money means adding more people to the blind to reduce cost. I do not consider my self "rich" nor am I willing to work through the majority of hunting season. I plan year round to make sure I am satisfied at the end of January. Not happy to see the end of season but satisfied that I did my part in killing the bastards!
