beat some balls yesterday and played 18..had a couple of open face slices wiht the irons and was inconsistent off the tee but was hitting good short/mid/long irons for the most part. shot 88 with four doubles on the front nine. I was encouraged by the better ball striking although I'm still not comfortable yet...I believe the issue is two fold 1) I'm laying the club way too open when I take it back and my lower half is going to soon 2) the pulled muscle/stiffness in my back is prevening my normal full fluid turn so I'm over compensating by finagling my lower body to get the club back where I think it needs to be and that is causing instability.
I think I'm on the way back but I will need to practice a lot for sure to get full confidence...my bad shots are way too bad

You don't say...
As for Tiger's 1997 hole in one, I've heard golf people say over and over that the two loudest cheers on a golf course ever were Tiger's hole in one at Scottsdale, and when Jack Nicklaus sank the putt on 17 to take the lead in the 1986 Masters.
