You do realize that hitting is more than just singles?
Raph Rhymes last year had 100 hits. 85 were singles, 11 doubles, and 4 home runs. When I analyze a player a perfect score or (as good as it gets) would have to qualify as someone who can do everything at the plate.
Raph is a exceptional hitter and fits perfectly into Mainieri's play but he doesn't have that wow factor when it comes to his bat. He hits for average...but until he starts adding in extra base hits in regular fashion I can't label him as the best.
