This is my estimate as well - availability will creep back in for some calibers as early as April. "Normalcy" in ammo availability should return by June/July, though.

As far as guns - they are more of a major purchase. I guess the good news is - there will be a bunch of sales later in the year as production catches up with the backorders - people who were on the cusp and could find guns, have already bought those and more. I guess that could be a silver lining (I know, a stretch, but that's all I have).

This is a fair assessment. The guy's at the Academy store over here noticed the lines thinning out quite a bit. They unload their AR's at 9am from the truck to the racks and they are gone by 11am, if not earlier. But 2 hrs is a long time for them to sit when everyone and their dog are looking for one.
