What?!?! His talent alone can get him here. Just think with year round training like the rest of AA players get will get him.

He could play pro ball as an outfielder
He had about 15 at bats at LSU. He did ok in those 15 at bats. He hasn't hit a live pitch in 4 years. There is a slight difference between the mediocre pitching he saw and arms at the AA level.
Again, his talent alone got him there. No fall ball, no summer league, and he missed half of the regular season training for football. Raw talent.

get a little more work in and work his way into a rotation. He wasn't even a starter at LSU in the little time he actually played.
CPM had enough confidence in him to put him in the CWS finals after pitching 5 innings all season, BECAUSE HE WASN"T EVEN A PITCHER.
He was drafted in the 13th round out of high school and would have gone way higher if pro scouts knew he wasn't going play football at LSU.
To say he doesn't have MLB talent is delusional.

One more thing,
He was drafted in the MLB draft by the Brewers AFTER his car wreck. NOw, you think they would draft a player that was on his death bed and was probably never going to walk again, according to reports at the time, if he wasn't MLB caliber?![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconrotflmao.gif)

No it can't. Jesus. The dude was a special athlete. He certainly had the talent to get drafted out of high school, but he could not pick up a ball and bat and go play AA baseball. You clearly don't have a very good idea of how this works. AA is typically loaded with top prospects. So you are telling me that you think he could step into a famr system and be one of the better prospects in the organization without having played a baseball game in 4 years?

Look at the FANTASTIC baseball players to come through LSU and never do jackshite in the pros. There is a HUGE difference between college pitching and pro pitching. Jones didn't even bat in the SEC. The limited at bats he had success in back in 2009 were all non conference games. Half of those guys were throwing softballs up there at 83-85 and couldn't locate.

I am sure you know a lot about a baseball player's talent level and potential. Chad Jones USED to have MLB talent.
