You have no idea what you're talking about. I was a teammate of Tommy at Bonnabel and he never considered LSU at all. His Dad and our Coach, Willie Hof, were teammates at Tulane back when LSU was crushing them each year. The only Schools He considered were Bama and Ole Miss. Archie Manning was at our school all the time talking to Tommy, but when Bryant visited him, that was it.
Bryant told Tommy he could be an All-Sec QB or an All American Safety, that's why he switched positions after leaving Bama and coming home after his first semester. Bryant personally came to bring him back up there.

Peavy is what did Mac in. I remember people screaming " Quick Kick, Mac" on third down all the time at the games which I started going to in 73.
