The problem with Flash has always been that if written correctly, there's almost no way to create a villain that could even make the Flash break a sweat. His super speed is SO fast that it's as if we're all standing still. Truly, his speed is the ultimate super power. He can run SO fast, he is untouchable. Superman may be the only guy that could even come close to laying a hand on him.
Comic books couldn't really portray how powerful super speed can be. But a movie, with the CGI tech we have now, could. It would take a hell of a writer to do it justice though.
This is about the best I've ever seen of what the Flash is capable of.
