Somewhat unfair to compare these over extended periods of time. Fed is 6 years older than the other guys. There was a time when he was untouchable. He dominated pretty much everyone for number of years. 17 majors don't lie. In addition, he one on every surface which in think is a testament to the player. Not nearly as much of a specialist as Nadal.

Lendl coulT win on clay. Mac couldn't win on clay. Either could Pete. I think winning then French strongly bolstered his claim to greatest of all time.

You post shows is the amount of parity at the top of the men's game. Very hard to dominate these days. It's really the glory days as far as a spectator sport butvthe non-tennis sports fans in the States because no American is a real and constant factor in this discussion.

1. Federer got his first ten majors against the likes of Marcos Baghdatis, Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt, and the like.

2. How in the world is Nadal a specialist? He has been to five Wimby finals and won it twice, beating Fed in 2008. He also won the Aussie Open in 2009 by beating Fed. Perhaps he is a specialist. His specialty is beating Roger Federer in tennis.
