If you weren't happy with our 2011 offense , you're a fricking idiot. We were #1 in scoring OFFENSE and had the second most PASSING AND RUSHING tds( no def or special teams TDs) EVER.

2011 offense had its issues.

the defense was so good that it masked a lot of those problems with turnovers and short fields.

our passing game was still pretty pedestrian when compared to most teams.

and when we needed the offense the most in the mnc game it completely fell apart.

The fricking coaching staff failed him and the offense, by going to a run, run, pass only if it is 3rd and 8 or more period.

Sad to say but the Tigers have not had a descent Offense in 4 years. I hope it changes after we lost most of our defense this year, but I want hold my breath.

That was not the case this past season. I think they tried to force it through the air on too many occasions instead of going with our bread and butter. It seemed like midway through the season, the coaches decided to steepen the learning curve for Mett.

I see it as 4 years of bad QB's and a transitional year from bad QB's. If we didn't have so many dropsies and missed open receivers then our offense wouldn't have looked so bad in 2012. Of course the coaches do get some of the blame for player development.

Shep threads are the 2013 version of JJ/Lee threads. I wonder who is up to bat for next year. Travis Dickson?

The only team to slow down our 2011 offense was the best Bama defense of all time. Period. That's it. When ran the ball at will on every one else. 2011 had the second most rushing and passing TDs of all time. If you weren't happy with our offense in 2011, then you might as well change your favorite team.

Where do you idiots come from. Yeah we sure did suck in 2011 with the #1 scoring offense in the SEC. We sucked. Your hatred for Miles is making you blind to FACTS. facts are statements that can be refuted.

If you go 5 years with questionable QB play, you either have talent evaluation problems or QB development problems. I find it difficult to believe LSU has missed on so man QB;s in the past 6 years.

Slackhouse dead on

Nice sum up of Shepard.
Just wasnt good enough period. Anyone that believes the coaches didnt utilize him correctly or give him enough opportunities are just bashers or in denial.

The coaches his freshman yr kept trying to create plays to get him the ball to the detriment of the team. His 2nd yr in the beginning of the yr they tried a few things with him. Then the realization came and they gave other guys more chances and they delivered with their opportunities. The team played better without Shepard. That may be tough to swallow but it is what it is.

If he doesnt make an impact on offense somewhere in the NFL, how can u blame the coaches for his lack of playing time here?

Chavis. Mark my words. We have had far more talent on defense than on offense. Next year the offensive talent will be greater than the defense, and the offense will be more experienced. Next year the fans will realize it was always about talent not play calling and coaching.

If the defense falls to a rank of about 70 or 90 for about 4 years you may have a point. No way in hell the defense sucks that bad.
