He is only trademarking it to sell it later. He has no ties to any of it. It would be like u trademarking tebowing. Only done for money.

My general purpose when I get up in the morning is to make as much money as I can. I would bet plenty of people copyright things just to sell them.

If you're the first person to think of trademarking something, and you go through the effort and spend the time/money to do so you deserve whatever comes of it.

Especially considering how much of a crapshoot it would be that some word becomes famous.
