you would think so, but since they are basically following "24" in their approach:

-Sheriff Rodrick & Joe's tension will increase
-psycho babysitter & gay boyfriend's tension will increase
-psycho babysitter will become increasingly more jealous as Joe continues to pursue his wife

-somewhere along all this crap the wife will sense this and try to leverage this to escape

and right at that point to where you think her and the kid will get away........something/someone will come in and stop it, probably someone on the FBI team who's actually a cult member
