The biggest deterrent for most people looking at a plasma is having images permanently burned in.

If I leave Netflix on the home screen all night the image will remain once I turn off my Xbox. However, once I put a tv channel on nothing is there.

So in short burning is temporary and goes away very easily.

There is nothing wrong with LED, but for me plasma is the most bang for your buck.
