Fidelity, Schwab, TD Ameritrade, etc...they all look the same, any opinion on the best? The cheapest? THanks.

I'm a Schwab fanboy along with a few others on the board. Incredibly easy to deal with and there is a live person to help if you have any questions. I'm about to roll my wife's municipal pension over to an IRA with them. I called a few weeks ago and they told me everything I need to do. I just haven't done it yet.

I would roll it over to me. But I'm biased.

Im going back and forth between Vanguard and Schwab...
For anyone in the know, as I read it, as long as I roll it to a roth before April 15th, I would claim that income on my 2012 Taxes, correct?

What are you rolling? I assume a 401k. And I don't know why it would be taxable in 2012 if you did the conversion in 2013. But I'm not a CPA either.

To enroll, call Schwab at 800-750-9073 or stop by a Schwab branch between now and December 31, 2013. Open your IRA before April 15, 2013, to make your contribution for tax year 2012
I was just assuming that since your contribution counted for 2012, that tax implications would

I think since you are taking the money as income this year you'll report it on 2013 taxes. But this is definitely a CPA/tax expert question.

Definitely Schwab after dealing with the others you listed as well.
