Some of the blame goes to Espn. Some of us remember the days if every major bowl taking place on NYD. You went about your next day with a split ntl title or outright. Funny thing, it's more controversial now, than when it was mythical split amongst sports writers. Now, the universe is controlled by Espn. They talk about the MNC in the summer, and don't stop until the 2nd week of jan. It's non-stop coverage for 40 days. It makes all other accomplishments irrelevant. If you don't win the MNC, you really didnt do anything. Regardless of injuries, suspensions, tragedies, schedule, adversity. Not that I'm 100% satisfied with the current climate of this program.
