They weren't punked, they claimed to know people who were. The woman who was interviewed said she received a call from Tuiasosopo in early-December where he tearfully confessed to punking Te'o. The man claimed his cousin was hit by Tuiasosopo back in 2008. The only reason they gave for remaining anonymous is that they feared retribution.

ESPN ran with anonymous, second-hand sources in an attempt to paint Te'o in a good light. Until I see phone records, receipts, and Tuiasosopo's confession, I will continue to believe that Manti Te'o was, at the very least, partially complicit in this scheme.

certainly you have that right. Im still on the fence. I do think the guy is very very simple. But like I said earlier, the transition from car wreck to leukiemia is where my questions arise
