Not sure I agree. How many jobs do we work at for 10 years that will give us lifetime benefits? None.

Why is it that those ex players think when they retire from football, they are exempt from working at another job to support themselves?

It's about choices. They made a choice to play a game, where they knew they would sustain injuries and then willingly lied about those injuries to get back on the field.

They were irresponsible with their finances (and not surprisingly their lives in general), and now they want a handout. Bogus.

Well, tequincally, the military does this.

But, how many jobs have a 10-15 yr max span in a multi billion dollar industry that could easily sponsor a program for insurance for injuries directly resulting from their career. They shouldnt all get checks, but they could easily get help with medical bills without the owners feeling a thing.

I dont think it applies to everyone. The most vocal ones, probably, but their are plenty of ex NLF players who arent looking for handouts. Whether or not they think like this, i think they are entitled to help with their medical bills from injuries resulting from their football career.
