Would that card be overkill for me? The only games I know for sure I will be playing are the Star Craft expansion and I'd like to get on Day Z.
Also, what about getting an SSD just for my OS and reuse my current HD?

yeah. but im just building the best overall computer at each price point.

you can do that no problem. just kill off the windows installation on the old HDD and instead just keep the files. best way to do that is move the files you want to keep onto a flash drive temporarily, format the HDD, and then move the files back.
eta: if you have the extra $50 then definitely upgrade the cpu to the 3570k
