Read the online comment from NewsFreak about Williams and Redemptorist posted in today's Advocate newspaper article (I don't know how to post the link) about Williams being hired.

The way I see it is Williams is the fourth football coach and/or head football coach at Redemptorist High School since May 2012. Coach Vice left with the Principal Sanders, Athletic Director, basketball, volleyball, baseball coaches, Alumni Director and every other teacher but a handful that stayed under new headmaster Menard and Dr Mel Verges. Coach LaBorde and Coach Roane both were hired and left within the next six months. Redemptorist Schools of Baton Rouge received 143 voucher students for 2012-2013 school year, estimated about a million dollars of voucher state gravy train money. Even with this large number of voucher students enrolled with Redemptorist for the first time, the enrollment in November 2012 was listed as 228 students total, causing Redemptorist to be reclassified down to a1-A school, even though they chose to opt up to play 2A the next two school years. The future of Redemptorist High school has a hard task ahead of them under the leadership of Menard/Verges and will be almost impossible since the state voucher program was deemed unconstitutional last month for future voucher students / money under the current funding program. If the Catholic Diocese School Diocese Office under Melanie Verges supported the voucher program whole heartedly, why is it that Catholic High has zero voucher students, St Joseph's Academy has zero voucher students, and St Michaels High only has 1 or 2 voucher children maximum? I don't believe, and neither do the other 50 plus families that removed their children from RHS this school year after the last administration left, that good strategic planning has occurred on the part of Menard/Verges. Having said all this, I sincerely wish both the new football coach and new principal the best of luck, and pray that they can bring Redemptorist back to where it was under Principals Fabre and Sanders.
I knew it was bad over there, but didn't know it was that bad.
