Fallacy: Miles philosophy of keeping games close

Big fallacy common among negatigers.
4 times in the 8 years under Miles, LSU has been top 10 FBS in avg Margin of Victory vs FBS teams, and LSU is also ranked FBS top ten MoV during the BCS era.
Factual posts. Read 'em and weep, haters.

if he wasn't trying to keep games close, why not review this?

I equate anyone using the term "negatiger" to someone who uses the word "noob" in video games.
The time people waste trying to bash Miles and company aren't nearly as pathetic as the people attention whoring by lending a blind eye to minor flaws in an above average coach.

In competitive games, There is no doubt Les plays the game of attrition.

One should be sure their platform has legs before standing on it.

The philosophy that Coach Miles had was to be good on defense, be good on special teams and win it in the fourth quarter," Crowton said. "We won a lot of games in the fourth quarter. We beat Auburn twice in the fourth quarter. What it did is it shortened the game. We didn't have a lot of offensive plays. When you look statistically, it wasn't great, but that wasn't our goal. Our goal was to win games. We won 40 in four years. - Gary Crowton
Hardly just a fan.
I think I'll believe someone that sat in with Miles day after day, than some unrealistic Miles pumper.
I've seen the results against Towson, Troy, Tenn, Auburn, La Tech, Ole Miss, and Clemson myself

LSU beat bama 9-6, because the staff wanted a 3pt W in OT.
No coach has a playshet like this.
They may employ a time eating series of playcalls late, or vs up-tempo Os, but it's not some inherent philosophy.

Do you agree or disagree with the comment?

Wouldn't a competitive game, by definition, be close?

Crowton said.
Measure that against what Danny O said about him.
Crowton is joke and his claim to LSU fame came before he could fully install his shitastic scheme.
I guess those 4 years were some accidental failure to lead FBS in MoV.
Like, dammit, we were supposed to have lowest margin of victory.
Try harder next year

Is that why LSU struggled to beat the worst auburn team in decades? Because the talent level of the 2 teams is so close?

I'm not one to spout off on unfounded claim.

Yes. I believe the offense becomes more conservative in these games. The Auburn game this year is a good example. The offense went into a crawl.

Short blonde, nice rack, flat stomach, perfect arse, long legs....she's stellar and one of the sexiest women on earth...but she has extremely yellow teeth (and it ruins the rest of her appearance sometimes when she smiles). You'd still date her and eff the crap out of her and won't ever leave her because she's THAT sexy. Doesn't take away from the fact that she still couldn't be slightly better if she whitened her damn teeth.
That's what Miles is. An excellent coach, recruiter, and has all the attributes of a great coach with the track record to prove it. That doesn't mean his minor flaws are drastically affecting his positive attributes.
The LSU football program is kicking arse and taking names. However, if Miles was a better game manager and would stop getting in his own way on offense, LSU would be even better. Pointing out the little things that Miles could be better at isn't bashing him or saying he's crap. It's constructive, FACTUAL criticism, that if he was self aware enough to realize, he'd be hoisting his 3rd Crystal ball Monday night.

The problem with AU game wasn't playcalls, it was execution.
LSU had RZ malfunctions, but it's not like the staff said we want 2 1st downs inside the 25.
TD plays were called, just not executed to fruition.

I figured you would bite on that. But you know what, you're full of shite. Even Miles himself disagrees with you

LSU blows out teams when it can. The offense is just normally too crappy to do it.
There have been plenty of blowouts.
