Talent is a HUGE advantage and I don't think we should take it for granted like the pantry just refills itself on its own.
Recruiting alone is worth a huge portion of a head coach's salary.
Also, LSU plays in the SEC.
For some reason "fans" like to think its a one game season now.
So, it's a one game season in the best conference in the world.
Not bad.

I agree, but expectations and standards are also raised as well. You can't separate what a coach makes from the present results.
Standards for coaches are are making elite money should be higher. A lot of guys really seem to get complacent after winning a title. It's hard work to stay at the top.

Go check out that thread about the lack of player development based on results vs recruiting.
My point is that this woeful offense is a trend not a 1-2 yr aberration. And whether the recruiting is overrated or the player development is terrible, someone is to blame (can't have it both ways).
