The coaches made one of those rare, truly brilliant calls; it worked like a charm; and you think that's stupid.

I must not know what the term "worked like a charm" means....

According to my understanding, it didn't work like a charm. If it had, LSU would have a W instead of an L.

To work like a charm, our receiver would have had to catch the ball and run past the marker for a 1st down. It worked like a welfare queen with seven kids getting government cheese.

Clemson stopped us twice on 3rd and short yardage with runs. It's not like they did it six times. And Mett had about twenty sacks on 3rd down.

The choice was obvious and easy - make them stop Jeremy Hill who they haven't consistently stopped all game long.

We went with Mett who struggled with a pick and many sacks (which obviously weren't all his fault).

It was stupid when looking at what worked vs. what didn't work and what could really backfire.

A passing play is a good call when the WR is wide open for the first down and it's an easy throw that the average high school QB makes 9/10 times. The fact Mett failed so miserably to make the easy pass doesn't mean the coach screwed up. It means Mett screwed up.

How about if Hill ran for the first down then fumbled at the end of the run? Would u blame the play call then? Bc that's about the equivalent.
