Made my first hunt with my 30-06 sat morning and it hasn't been unloaded since. It stayes locked in my truck until I leave for the stand I sling it across my back for the 4wheeler ride and climb in the stand. I'm sure its unsafe but I'm lazy. I did start wearing orange to and from the stand this year so that's a step in the right direction

Good thread. I might change my ways (chamber when start walking to stand) and stays that way till I get back to the truck.

Do you carry it up the stand or use a string and rope to pull it up?
