Why pay this guy, if he cannot touch the defense, offense or call timeouts. What the hell is his purpose??? Get rid of him.

Recruiting. Being the face of the program.
He has proven to be very good at recruiting great players. He just can't develop them or coach them to the point it's indicative of their talent level.
Mack Brown and a few other coaches has done well with this model of coaching.
