Texas was 8-4/5-4
Oregon State was 9-3/6-3

That's the "order" I was talking about. And in your order I'm still right. Oregon state also ranked about 10 spots higher.

The Big 12 was the lower seeded team in both those games according to your post.

In your defense, the Pac12 has 2 teams in BCS games so the Alamo Bowl was really Big12 #3 vs. Pac12 #3. The Holiday was Pac12 #4 vs. Big12 #5.
