I wouldn't object to seeing the number of bowl games reduced. Crappy Colorado weather and nothing else on would be the only reason I watch a couple of 6-6 teams play.

I'm just saying why can't we have the Gator bowl on like the 28th of December then have the Outback at like 11:30 and the Cap 1 at 1 pm?

well this year had that happened they would have been morning and afternoon games on a Friday.

that would really hurt ratings and attendance.

It's new years day so that's not a good answer as everyone has it off...and that's a half hour later than it was less than 5 years ago

edit

oh I see, I read your post wrong initially

If you want to move a game off NYD, move the Heart of Dallas Bowl as its fairly new.

Then tell the Rose to STFU and move their time to later in the day.

No prob

I just hate how we get all these crappy games for 10 days, then they mash the good 8 or so games into a 3 day span

really the big problem IMO is that ESPN fully owns or has the rights to 33 of the 35 bowls.

If you could wrest about 15-20 or so of them away and give then to other networks I think it would really help things.

The bigger question is why is a shite bowl like the godaddy.com bowl so late in the bowl season. That should be a December game.

No big deal, but I think you're off one in your count. One remaining game is on CBS, one on Fox, & one on ABC.

It will never happen, but cutting back the number of games is the answer.

who owns the GoDaddy tv rights? There is your answer.

Disney owns ABC who owns ESPN. They are one and the same when it comes to sports coverage. Oddly enough, ESPN is able to pull sports OFF of ABC almost at will. This is partly why you dont as much NASCAR and other sports on ABC anymore.

Are the cap 1 and outback the only 2 bowl games that start at the exact same time all bowl season?

I just can't understand the logic by ESPN. You can get more total viewership if you do something to fix this problem, as many BIG and SEC fans will watch both games if they can

It's always been like that. B1G vs SEC = ratings

All BCS games are assured of being played with no competition from other games. One BCS game at night and one BCS game in the afternoon. Everything else must be played around these games.

Jesus, who let you out of the Rant.

The B1G brings more TV sets than any other conference and second isn't close. Go jizz in a mason jar and share it with your Aggy friends.
