yes it is,,, i had pictures of one sunning about 10 days ago when the temp rose though. Normally they are very passive if they come out this time of the year. Similar to a snake on a cool morning during early turkey season.

I saw a bunch during the first split. Made me nervous after walking through the marsh. Didn't think they were even a thought after that freeze this week

Greetings and Happy New Year, Geauxt.
Several years ago I went to Davis Island to check a friend's camp. The river was high and temps were in the 30's. There was a monstrous gator on the bank on Palmyra. probably as big as Simmons gator14 ft? This was in February I think. Not long after deer season anyway.
