George,
There are some pretty good reasons to push the home state school with many programs. LSU is one.
Do not underestimate the opportunity for the parents to see their child paly an dbe near his overall college experience. Additoanlly, the state HS coaches develop lines of communication with the state college staffs, which gives the family an independent source of information on how the student is being treated.
Finally, if is no secret that the state school networks oftern award the former palyer with employment and business opportunities that will not be abvailable to the student who plays elsewhere.
I have great respect for Nick Saban and consider him the best coach in college football. Coach Miles is one of the best coaches and one of the best humans in the business of coaching.
Armed with what I know, I would NOT want my son to play for Nick, but would be glad to have him play for Les, provided only that he was not a QB.
Just another opinion.

Yeah nit, i definitely understand that train of thought. No doubt Miles is a great coach ... top 5 in the business for sure. It's also no secret he's a better person than Saban.
I, personally however, would rather my son play for Saban who i believe to be top dog.
This doesn't mean i hate LSU, or Miles .... its just my personal, hypothetical, preference.
