What strategy should I use for Mike Trout?

He is entering the final year of his contract at $15. I can choose to extend him for $5 for every additional year I choose. In a 12-team ROTO league, he is probably valued at around $45. However, I do not want to extend over $30. My belief to maximize value for him is to up him to $20 and trade him mid-season for an even better bargain. What do y'all think?
I have already committed myself to keeping three OFs of the my four with Morse ($1) and Adam Jones ($5).

If I was you I'd manage my own team and not ask internet strangers that don't give any fricks

Well then keep him for the next 3 years and then move him. Even at $30, he's a bargain and you'd still be able to maximize a return package. I would definitely not move him prior to your max keeping price.
Keep him. Enjoy.
Keep him. Enjoy.

Same with my league; I have Trout through this seasons @ $2 and I'm going 3, maybe 4 years to keep him beyond that. Unlike your league, the one I'm in is AL-only so everyone tends to get a shite player at some spot.

$2 is envious. My concern is going too long on the extension. I'm thinking $25. If I go much higher, then he may not be that great of a bargain. Plus, I will be throwing him back into the pool once he hits his good years. I believe I will have to trade him at the deadline in his final year to maximize his value.

Can you explain how this works? Do you pay real money? How much do you have to play with? Where can I go to look into this it sounds like a really cool thing for baseball especially.
A link would be awesome

Pay for Trout until his price goes above Miggy, Braun, etc. He is worth even for a small bargain. Trade him only when you cannot keep him any longer.
This is all assuming Trout puts up relatively similar numbers as in 2012.

It's your basic auction league, works just like football.
His keeper league gives you X amount of dollars (say $100). Each player is assigned a money value. I'm guessing they can only keep a guy so long until his value is bumped each season

Yes, we are given $280 to build our teams. It is going to a 12-team league. It is a 5x5 ROTO league and the positions to be filled are as follows:
2 C
2 1B
2 2B
2 SS
2 3B
4 OF
