Bought the shield for my gf, getting some trigger work done this weekend. 
Getting a new crossbreed holster for it, I use crossbreed for my 1911 and it works great.
I just shoot whatever cheap 115g FMJ for target, usually Winchester white box, but after watching tnoutdoors on YouTube do ballistics tests, I have 115g HP Speer Gold Dots for safe and carry. He uses 124 +P Speer rounds, but the standard 115g Speer loads handled very well, and I have read that you get more velocity out of smaller barrels with lighter grain rounds. That 115g Speer got 17 inches of penetration!
And maybe order a couple more mags, it only comes with two
