Yeah I loved fhat they added the songs.
A good bit of people were laughing in theatre during the riddle scene. Is it just me that didn't see that part as funny. That part and

when bilbo talks to Smaug towards the end of the book. Those were the two eeriest parts of the book. Felt the same way in the movie.

Yeah, Gollum is an incredibly tragic character. He is completely despicable, but completely pitiable all at once. Think the best part of both this film and LotR was Bilbo sparing Gollum. You definitely feel terrible for Gollum in that instance, but then he quickly reminds you why you despised him in the first place.
